Alsama Project – Lebanon
Situated in the Shatila and Bourj el-Barajneh Refugee camps in Beirut, Lebanon, are the four (4) educational centers of the Alsama Project (https://alsamaproject.com/). The organization runs provides an Accelerated Learning Program for young refugee learners, mainly from Syria and Palestine, preparing them for avenues of higher education and professional engagements.
Edwise joined as the Educational Consultant for Alsama Project in 2024. One major aim of the engagement was to help Alsama revise and modify its program curriculum to bring it at par with global educational standards. The target was to successfully get the revised program accredited by WASC, an accreditation commission agency.

Curriculum Development and Planning
To these ends, Edwise led the the review and refinement of Alsama’s 6-year program curriculum and helped develop the annual and monthly plans for program execution.
Edwise also focused on enhancing Alsama’s organizational capacities, particularly its human capital, to ensure the revised curriculum is delivered effectively.
Pre-Service Teacher Training Program
Building on this foundation, Edwise is currently collaborating with Alsama to develop a comprehensive Pre-Service Teacher Training program. This initiative aims to equip educators with the requisite theoretical background and pedagogical tools to lead effective classrooms, while being fully aware of the Alsama curriculum. The program will emphasize on helping learners develop lifelong learning skills by creating learning environments that are engaging, empowering and transformative.
