Abdul Haseeb advocates for a holistic education, that nurtures the intellectual, physical, emotional and spiritual growth of young learners. He believes that the world needs intelligent minds, but even more importantly, it needs people of trustworthy intellect who embody compassion.
In 2016, Abdul Haseeb began working with an Islamic school to develop a framework for Character Education according to the Islamic values (Tarbiyah). Combining the Western and Islamic sources of knowledge, he attempted to embed ethical values in the taught and the hidden curriculum of the school. He engaged with the parent body, faculty members and the school leadership to weave the school narrative making it congenial to nurture thinking minds and compassionate humans.
Research on Pedagogical Efficacy in Madressahas
In 2020 – 2021, Abdul Haseeb was tasked by Dar ul Uloom Karachi and the Learning Circle to researching “Efficacy of Pedagogy in the Madressahas” in Karachi Pakistan. The study particularly focused on the instructional approach used during training students with the memorization of the Holy Quran (Hifz ul Quran). Leading a team of Dar ul Uloom graduates, Abdul Haseeb conducted both primary and secondary research. The team visited institutions, observed sessions, reviewed student outputs and conducted semi-structured interviews with the leadership.
