Abdul Haseeb enjoys giving shape to ideas. The opportunity to give institutional shape to an idea appeals to his creative instincts.
For him, working for education means partaking in the march of human civilization. And ever since he realized this, he has found it difficult to direct his imagination elsewhere.
However, at the same time, he thrives on the pushing of disciplinary boundaries, facilitating pollination of ideas, seldom foregoing fertile possibilities. The world for which we prepare our students is not fragmented, hence, he ensures his educational imagination remains holistic.
Eager to make an impact, he is passionate about helping develop people and institutions around ideas, purpose and values.
He completed his MA International Development from the University of Warwick as a Commonwealth Scholar. Prior to that, he obtained his BSc Political Science from the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS).
However, he likes to believe his degree titles are misleading, for the simple reason that they do not reflect his interdisciplinary interests. At each institution, Abdul Haseeb curated a hybrid pathway choosing among the different Social Sciences and Humanities, particularly Sociology and History. His primary interest remained in the cultivation of an intellectual aptitude and a refined worldview, or weltanschauung (as called in German language).
His engagements have been intentionally diverse. With a keen interest in understanding the roles of various stakeholders in an educational landscape, he has curated a pathway that enables him to comprehend the macro perspective and deliver effectively at the micro level.
He is currently working as an Educational Consultant for a refugee organization based in Beirut, Lebanon.
Over the past decade, Abdul Haseeb has worked with the Aga Khan University – Institute for Educational Development (AKU IED), Oxford University Press (OUP), Durbeen, City School Network, Karachi Down Syndrome Program (KDSP), and NOWPDP.
